Some additional features of IPv6 are: x IPv6 supports stateless autoconfiguration mechanisms to generate addresses automatically, as well as DHCP and static configuration. x IPv6 is not directly compatible with IPv4, but a number of mechanisms are available to allow them to interoperate in a network.
